Want to collect amazing client testimonials—without feeling awkward or pushy about asking?
Whether you work 1:1 or run group programs, great testimonials can build trust, increase sales, and inspire your future clients to say yes. But many business owners skip this step entirely because it feels uncomfortable.
In this post, we’ll walk through how to wrap up your client experience professionally, naturally ask for feedback, and automate the entire process using AttractWell’s built-in tools.
๐ This post is based on our live Office Hours training. You can watch the full replay below and grab the free testimonial collection system we shared during the session.

Offboarding is the process of wrapping up a client experience in a way that leaves them feeling valued and supported—while also helping you gather powerful feedback for your business.
A great offboarding process can:
- Strengthen relationships and increase referrals
- Encourage repeat business with follow-up offers
- Make collecting testimonials natural and effortless
Examples of a Simple Wrap-Up Process
For 1:1 Coaching Clients:
- Send a final session recap email with next steps and resources
- Check in a few weeks later with a natural request for feedback
- Offer a follow-up or next-step program if relevant
For Group Programs or Courses:
- Send a celebration or “graduation” email at the end of the program
- Encourage sharing wins on social media or in a community space
- Offer a next step or alumni experience
- Include a link to submit a testimonial as part of the wrap-up
How to Ask for a Testimonial Without Feeling Awkward
If asking for testimonials feels awkward, it usually comes down to the way we’re taught to do it. A better approach is to make the request about them—their growth, their success, and their chance to inspire someone else who’s where they once were.
Try this:
“Your experience can help others take this step. If you’re open to sharing, I’d love to feature your story.”
Then send them to a structured form that guides their response and includes consent options for sharing.
What to Include in a Testimonial Request Form
- A thank-you message and acknowledgment of their progress
- Prompts to guide a strong testimonial (e.g., What was your biggest win?)
- Consent checkboxes for name, title, photo, and testimonial usage
- If consent is given, follow up to request a photo
